Looking for a book called something like "I²", or I squared, or perhaps "me²": it's about an eight-bit artificial intelligence that grows up inside a computer, playing something like Tube Wars to learn how to survive. it gets installed into a robot body which is shipped somewhere on a train and the AI has to figure out how to reattach some of its limbs and escape, where it hides in a barn and is discovered by the farmer's daughter who menaces it with a pitchfork.
sry, can't remember the author.
July 4, Hawaii, Independence
Imagine a Native American community who had a Disneyland-like resort built over their villages and ancestor's graves, the people made to do bastardizations of their sacred dances, wear mock 'sexy feather headresses' and entertain the rich tourists for starvation wages, 12 hours a day 7 days a week, living sardine-packed 20-to-a-house. And then be arrested for speaking their own language. It'd be an outrage, right? But that is just everyday life, in US-colonized Hawaii
Damn folks, it seems like we're heading into a time of deep social isolation and fear. If only we had a robust network of friends across the globe with whom we can distract ourselves and enjoy sparkling conversation and offer support in a trying time. It would be even better if it were functionally resilient by virtue of not relying on any centralized infrastructure, and were free from fearmongering advertisements.

For all the "hardwork" and "resilience" and "genius" the leads of these huge companies are supposed to have and get paid for accordingly, their companies sure as hell can't make it past 2 or 3 days of lowered consumer demand. Shouldn't a CEO making a couple thousand times what their least-paid worker be able to solve this kind of company solvency problem???
Since people are sharing games they've made to pass the time with, here's mine!
Flower Magic is a relaxing pixel game where you plant flowers so they cross-pollinate to find new combinations and maybe special magical flowers.
Herbal Spice Problem is a tongue-in-cheek little puzzle game where you explore an alien landscape for plants to hopefully make a cup of tea without poisoning yourself.
And The Witch's Cottage is a twine escape room game about potions.
